? 4-star farm stay on 16 acres in North Yorkshire
The Farm & Grounds
Barker Stakes Farm is set on 16 acres along the banks of Pickering Beck, housed in an 18th-century farmhouse. The grounds include a football pitch, an orchard, and multiple animal paddocks with goats, pigs, rabbits, alpacas, horses, and a llama. A games barn offers table tennis, pool, and table football, while two separate children's playgrounds are spread across the site.
Accommodations
The farm offers 23 self-catering units ranging from glamping pods and studio lodges to one-bedroom cottages and three-bedroom lodges. Several units include a private hot tub, and all come with a kitchenette or full kitchen equipped with an air fryer, microwave, toaster, and kettle. Accommodation types include the Woodsman lodges, Parkside Lodge, Silver Waterside Lodge, and the Dairy Cottage.
Family-Friendly Features
Children have access to two playgrounds, a play barn with table tennis and pool, and the football pitch. A kids' outdoor play equipment area is located near the lodges, and farm animals are visible from many units. The site is designed for families: the studio lodge has bunk beds, and the three-bedroom Woodsman lodge sleeps up to six adults with a large hot tub.
Location & Nearby Attractions
The farm is 1.5 miles from Pickering market town, reachable via a 30-minute flat walk. It lies 40 minutes from Scarborough, Whitby, Filey, and York, and 5 minutes from Flamingo Land and Eden Camp. The North Yorkshire Moors Railway and Castle Howard are also within a short drive.
Pet & Booking Policies
Pets are accepted in most lodges but not in the 3-person lodge, the cottages (including the Dairy Cottage), or the studio lodge. An invoice is provided upon booking, and the property is entirely non-smoking with smoke alarms installed. Accessible parking and free parking are available on site.
