Chycara House: Wedding venue and self-catering estate on 16 acres with lakeside ceremonies, indoor pool, and tennis court
Estate & Grounds
Chycara House is a wedding venue and self-catering estate set within 16 acres of gardens and woodland. The grounds include an indoor swimming pool, a tennis court, a clubhouse with gardens, and a lake used for outdoor wedding ceremonies. A rustic wedding barn and a marquee option provide covered celebration space, while guest lodges sit across the site.
Accommodation
The estate offers one-bedroom chalets with Smart TVs and hairdryers, plus family chalets with fully equipped kitchens. The Shepherd's Hut and named lodges such as Willow, Oak, Garden, and Lake make up the nine self-catering accommodations. Wheelchair-accessible rooms, accessible parking, and non-smoking rooms are available across the property.
Location & Activities
Chycara House sits on the intersection of the coast-to-coast 11-mile cycle trail. The estate has bicycle rental, horse riding, fishing, and water sport facilities on site, with additional local water sports within a 10-minute drive. North and South coast beaches are accessible from the site, and the Cornish countryside lies on the doorstep.
Weddings & Events
Chycara House operates as a wedding venue with ceremonies held at the lake and receptions in the rustic wedding barn. A wedding coordinator is available to plan the day, and the venue has hosted weddings of up to 76 guests. The site can be booked exclusively with family and friends staying in the on-site lodges, extending celebrations across multiple days.
Leisure & Family
The indoor swimming pool is bookable, and the on-site tennis court is available for guests. A clubhouse with adjacent gardens provides a gathering space, and the grounds include ponds, a stream, and woodland. Family chalets with fully equipped kitchens support self-catering stays for groups and children.
