Historic 16th-century boutique hotel in the heart of the Cotswolds

History & Character

Corinium Hotel & Restaurant occupies a Grade II listed wool merchant's house built in 1595, with original Tudor oak beams and Cotswold stone façades. The building's 16th-century structure includes steep staircases and low beams, preserved across 15 individually styled rooms. Guests can see salvaged ship timbers from Gloucester docks in the top-floor attic rooms.

Rooms

The 15 bedrooms each have their own character, ranging from compact doubles to a 4-poster room and a family room with private bathroom. Exposed beams, sash windows, and original floorboards are present in many rooms, while some bathrooms feature walk-in showers or baths. Ground-floor rooms are available for guests who prefer to avoid stairs.

Dining

The on-site restaurant serves a menu that includes Asian-influenced dishes such as crispy duck leg with oriental greens, alongside locally sourced full English breakfasts. The bar offers three hand-pump ales, including Timothy Taylor's Landlord, and a snack bar menu. The walled garden provides outdoor seating for alfresco meals and drinks during summer.

Pet-Friendly Amenities

Dogs are welcome in designated rooms and common areas, with pet bowls provided and staff known to offer treats. The hotel's location gives direct access to countryside walks and Cirencester Park for scenic strolls with pets. Guests can have breakfast and dinner with their dogs in the bar area.

Location & Surroundings

Corinium Hotel is a 5-minute walk from Cirencester town centre and the Corinium Museum, which houses Roman mosaics. Abbey Grounds and Cirencester Park are within walking distance for scenic walks. The hotel offers complimentary private parking, a rare bonus in this central Cotswold location.
