4-star holiday home on an alpaca farm with electric vehicle charging station
Accommodation
Ferny Rigg Byre is a 4-star holiday home with one bedroom and one bathroom, offering a private entrance. The property includes a fully equipped kitchen, a fireplace, a washing machine, a dishwasher, and a TV. Guests have access to free WiFi and private parking on site.
Property Features
The holiday home has a garden with views of the surrounding farmland and an electric vehicle charging station. Heating, non-smoking throughout, fire extinguishers, and smoke alarms are provided for safety and comfort. The property is located on a family farm with alpacas at the bottom of the garden.
Location
Ferny Rigg Byre is 17 km from Bellingham Golf Club and 42 km from Housesteads Roman Fort. Nearby attractions include Kielder Castle and Hadrians Wall Vindolanda, with Kielder Water within walking distance. Newcastle International Airport is 69 km away, and the property is accessed via a 1-mile rough track.
On-Site Experience
The working farm has alpacas, swallows, and housemartins that guests can observe from the cottage. Owners David and Caroline are on site and provide local recommendations, such as The Pheasant Inn pub within walking distance. An electric vehicle charging station next to the property worked reliably for guests.
Guest Notes
The 1-mile access track has potholes, so a car with good clearance is recommended. Supermarkets are 30 to 45 minutes away by car, so shopping should be done en route. Luggage storage options are available from the owners, not from the booking agency.
