Lainston House in Winchester, England

Lainston House is a Queen Anne red brick hotel set within 63 acres of landscaped grounds that include the UK's largest avenue of lime trees. The hotel offers 54 individually designed rooms and suites, each reflecting the property's historical character with features like beamed ceilings and four-poster beds. Rooms are distributed between the main house and a newer annex, with the Garden Suite providing direct access to the grounds and a private patio area.

The Avenue restaurant offers an award-winning tasting menu under MasterChef: The Professionals champion Tom Hamblet. The Wellhouse is one of the only UK restaurants where every dish is cooked exclusively by woodfire, operating in a historic standalone building steps from the main house. A cookery school called Season operates on-site, offering diverse culinary courses including Thai, Meze and Tapas, and masterclasses led by Tom Hamblet.

The 63-acre grounds include walking trails, a walled kitchen garden, and access to world-renowned fly fishing on the River Test. On-site activities include archery, tennis on two courts, and cycling routes that link to the South Downs Way. The hotel also provides maps for jogging routes and offers activities such as falconry and clay pigeon shooting with advance booking.

The hotel offers designated dog-friendly rooms such as the Plush room North Loggio, which includes a jacuzzi bath. Upon arrival, dogs receive a bed, bowls, snacks, poop bags, and still mineral water in a can. The Garden Room provides direct access to the extensive grounds, making it suitable for guests traveling with pets.

The hotel offers meeting and banquet facilities, a business centre, and multiple indoor and outdoor event spaces including the Linden Room. The property has accessibility features for wheelchair users, including an emergency cord in bathrooms and raised toilets. Electric vehicle charging stations and accessible parking are available on-site.
