The trek from the hotel to Scafell Pike takes roughly 7-8 hours round trip. Alternatively, you could drive to Wasdale, which is about a 40-minute drive away, where the walk takes approximately 4-5 hours round trip.
If I arrive by train, which station would be the most convenient, and can a taxi be arranged to reach the Inn?

Seascale is the closest station. Taxis can be arranged through Gosforth Taxis at 019467 25308 or Sims Taxis at 019467 23227 for about £20 each way, but it's best to pre-book.
