Accommodations
The Poltimore Inn offers chalet-style lodges in the garden, each providing direct access to the grounds and private picnic benches. Five modern lodges are available, including the Teasle lodge with a balcony overlooking the valley. Family rooms in the main building, such as the Barle suite, offer twin and king beds for up to four guests.
Dining
The restaurant uses a smoker crafted from submarine materials to enhance food flavors. Menus change constantly based on customer feedback and feature locally sourced produce, including lamb shank and steak and ale pie. Specialty food nights offer global cuisines, and breakfast includes full English/Irish options with fresh pastries.
Observatory & Stargazing
The inn has a dedicated observatory with telescopes, located in an International Dark Sky Reserve. Stargazing events are held on selected dates, and portable telescopes can be placed in guest lodges upon request. This facility is a rare offering for a countryside inn in North Devon.
Pet-Friendly Stay
Dogs are allowed in all rooms and in the bar area, with a pet surcharge of £10 per night. The garden includes a designated dog exercise zone with picnic tables. Staff can provide dog beds and doggy snacks on request.
