Historic Victorian manor resort in Fowey
Architecture & History
Built in 1872 by an Italian architect commissioned by General Garibaldi, Trenython Manor combines Italian design with English charm. The entrance hall features Egyptian pillars from the Temple of Ephesus, said to be thousands of years old. Other historic objects on display include General Wolf's Headboard, Lord Nelson's Sea Chest, and Italian marbles sent by Garibaldi now in the restaurant.
Accommodation
Over 30 self-catering cottages and lodges are dotted across the 24-acre grounds, each with a fully fitted kitchen, lounge area, and private patio. Manor rooms offer sea views over St Austell Bay or terraces leading onto gardens. Pet-friendly lodges are available upon request, and all guests have complimentary use of leisure facilities.

The resort has two on-site restaurants serving menus that focus on local ingredients, plus a bar, private dining room, and conference room.
