Location
YHA Keswick sits on the banks of the River Greta, a 10-minute walk from Lake Derwentwater and its boat rental facilities. Skiddaw Mountain is a 10-minute drive from the hostel, and Keswick's shops and restaurants are within 15 minutes' walk. Fitz Park, with a playground and a Sunday kids' parkrun at 9am, is adjacent to the hostel.
Facilities
Guests have use of a self-catering kitchen, a dining room, and a drying room for wet gear after mountain walks. The hostel offers luggage storage, key card access to floors and rooms, and a secure bike store. A small shop on site sells essentials, and a bar and coffee house serve drinks and snacks.
Dining
The on-site restaurant serves cooked breakfasts (order by the previous night), including vegan options, for about £10 per person. Guests can also buy food from the bar area throughout the day, with items like fish and chips and mushy peas on the menu. Board games and printed walking maps are available in the bar and hallway.
Rooms
The hostel provides private rooms with shared or en-suite bathrooms, as well as dormitory beds with shared facilities. Most rooms contain bunk beds, and each bed comes with linen, a duvet, and a pillow (towel hire available). Some rooms offer a balcony overlooking the river, and guests can open windows for fresh air.

Families can book private rooms with multiple bunk beds, including a 6-bed en-suite family room. The large shared kitchen is well stocked with cookware for self-catering, and the dining area offers plenty of seating.
